Job Role

Are you a Pharmacy Dispenser that would like to step into a Trainee Pharmacy Technician? We want to support you to complete the accredited course to become a qualified Pharmacy Technician.

This role is to assist and coordinate daily dispensary and pharmacy store operations, in conjunction with pharmacist manager.

You will be fully trained to:

  • Dispensing of medicines, appliances and other medical devices as per Code of Ethics.
  • Ordering pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, maintaining stock and storing in an appropriate manner.
  • Provision of extended pharmacy services to patients.
  • Maintaining records such as pharmacy files, patient medication records and registries of controlled drugs.
  • Advising patients and selling appropriate OTC medicines.
  • Ensuring safe disposal of expired and returned medicines.
  • To deliver excellent customer service, ensure the team deliver the highest standards of customer care.
  • Supervision of dispensers and assistants where appropriate
  • To protect the Society through effective due diligence, including relevant dispensary audits and Health & Safety audits
  • The performance of any other duties required by Pharmacist Manager in pursuance of a successful operation.

This role can be physically challenging at times and involve reaching, bending and lifting of stock and standing for long periods of time, but what you give in enthusiasm we'll return to you in full with training and other benefits and rewards; Starting salary of £15.23 +10% Sunday Rate, we also offer 10% staff discount some weekends 20%, discretionary bonus, pension, simply Health and a generous holiday allowance, as well as other discounts.

  • Relevant pharmacy experience and knowledge of legislation
  • An appreciation of the importance of good customer service
  • Good written and verbal English
  • A can-do attitude and a great team player
  • If you have less than five years residency status, you may be considered for full time roles.
    If you've lived more than five years on the island, you may apply for part time roles
  • EU settled status document will be required from those holding an EU passport
  • Bonus: Ability to work flexible working patterns as the role may include weekends
  • DBS check is required.

 

You'll need to have strong personable skills with the ability to serve and maintain great customer relations and have a willingness to learn and develop.
