CHANNEL ISLANDS COOP LAUNCHES EXCLUSIVE MEMBER PRICES IN RESPONSE TO CUSTOMER FEEDBACK
The Channel Islands Coop (CI Coop) are excited to announce the launch of Member Prices, an initiative designed to reward loyal members with exclusive discounts and special pricing every time they shop on a wide range of products across all stores. This initiative, a first in the grocery sector within the Channel Islands, has been developed in direct response to customer feedback. It reflects CI Coop’s commitment to providing value to members.
Listening to Our Members
The Member Prices concept was developed over several months and first trialled at the Coop’s Don Street store in Jersey to gather member feedback. Following this, it was presented at the Annual Members Meeting in both Jersey and Guernsey in May to further engage members and gather their input.
In September, following a successful trial period, CI Coop held a series of focus groups with members in Jersey and Guernsey to assess their thoughts on member prices. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with participants expressing strong support for the exclusive member savings initiative.
“Our members told us they want to see immediate rewards from their membership, and we’ve listened,” said David McGrath, Chief Marketing and Membership Officer. “Member Prices are the first step in delivering these tangible benefits, and we are eager to continue this journey of providing even more value to our members. This initiative is a direct result of member feedback, and we are delighted to offer an initiative that truly meets their needs and expectations.”
A Reward for Loyalty
The Member Prices initiative is aimed at strengthening the bond between the CI Coop and its members by offering financial benefits that members can enjoy right away, instead of waiting to the year end to realise the rewards. CI Coop members will now have access to exclusive savings on everyday essentials and special items, making shopping locally even more rewarding. This is in addition to an affordable annual share of profits (Dividend), which is agreed at the Annual Members Meeting.
Member Prices are CI Coop’s way of showing that it means more to be a member, it’s not just about discounts – it’s about reinforcing the cooperative spirit and ensuring members feel valued, with more benefits to come.

Making it Easier to become a member
We want to ensure non-members do not miss out so a key development alongside the introduction of member prices is the introduction of new digital technology that allows new customers to become Coop members instantly, enabling them to start saving in-store and enjoy all the benefits of being a shareholder in the cooperative.
