With two EVie vehicles per space for limited impact on CI Coop customers, the A2A and A2B car share service will be available across four stores on the island:
- Two A2A vehicles at St Helier Grand Marche
- Four A2B vehicles at St Helier Grand Marche
- Two A2B Floating Spaces at Beaumont Coop
- Two A2B Spaces at St Brelade Coop
- Two A2B Spaces at St Peter Grand Marche
EVie vehicles will be easily visible through identifiable, blue-painted spaces and clear branding, making travelling sustainably easier than ever for Islanders looking for temporary and environmentally friendly transport. This initiative complements a wider network of over 40 EVie vehicles and more than 50 spaces across Jersey, significantly enhancing the convenience and reach of shared electric mobility on the island.
Carl Winn, Head of Community and Sustainability, Channel Islands Coop said: “We are delighted to be partnering with EVie to supply our community with sustainable electric vehicles.
“Prioritising sustainability is a vital part of our overall mission at the Channel Islands Coop, and this partnership provides a fantastic opportunity to ensure that the residents of Jersey have the ability to make more sustainable choices.”
Nick Perchard-Rees, CEO at EVie, added: “At EVie, we are committed to providing simple and affordable access to sustainable modes of travel for all. With emissions accounting for nearly half of Jersey's overall output, our collaboration with key partners like CI Coop is crucial in making a real impact. This partnership enables us to offer more Islanders the chance to reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to a healthier environment. We look forward to building on this early collaboration and finding even more ways to support CI Coop members and the broader community in their journey towards sustainability.”
