Dave Cowley and son
With 900 vergées, David Cowley is Guernsey’s largest land user. He’s been farming since he
turned 16 and today, with his son Simon, supplies us with our favourite spuds, including Kind Edward,
Maris Piper and Guernsey New Potatoes. There’s more and the clue’s in the surname. David also keeps
cattle, providing milk to Guernsey Dairy. And it all began as a child, with one cow in his parents’ garden.
