Nutty oat bars
Master this basic flapjack recipe, then customise them however you like.

Ingredients

250g butter, plus extra for greasing 250g golden syrup 70g soft light brown sugar 400g Co-op porridge oats 120g Co-op mixed nuts, roughly chopped 100g Co-op California raisins Zest of 1 orange;

Method

1. Heat the oven to 180°C/fan 160°C/Gas 4 2. Grease an ovenproof dish (about 20x30cm) 3. Put the butter, syrup and sugar into a pan and heat gently until all the sugar has dissolved 4. Add the rest of the ingredients to the pan and mix them all together 5. Tip the mixture into the dish, spread it out to the corners and bake for 20 minutes 6. Cool, then cut into 20 bars
