Job Role

We're looking for a Store Manager to join our team at Longstore Food Store.

To successfully implement the retail operations strategic plan whilst being fully responsible and accountable for successfully operating a Food Store. Ensuring great customer service is consistently provided as well as managing the financial performance of the store dealing with the financial side of the store and all people management requirements.

To lead, inspire and develop your team, spending most of your day on the shop floor, making sure that each and every colleague and customer is valued. To maximise sales and profitability by providing excellent customer service through effective team leadership.           

In an ever changing and increasingly competitive market you'll seek opportunities to stay ahead of the competition and react to changes that could affect your store performance. 

MAIN AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  1. Accountability for store performance across all trading hours,
  2. Accountability for all operating costs,
  3. Accountability for store profitability,
  4. Accountability for recruitment and ongoing development of team,
  5. Effectively grow profits,
  6. Implementing the retail operations strategy on time,
  7. Effectively lead, engage and develop a team,
  8. Effectively develop and execute excellent customer service Responsible for legal compliance and maintaining due diligence – Food Safely and Health and Safety.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Embed the culture and values of the Society within your store, and encourage all management and staff to attain the highest possible standards and work within the spirit of the agreed Aims and Values of the Society and the Management Charter; create an operational climate that is conducive to employee development, engagement and loyalty.

  3. Build strong relationships and reach out across the business to find better ways of doing things,
  4. Listen to your team, being open and willing to learn, and use this insight to develop the business,

  9. Develop improved colleague and store communications that assist in improving colleague engagement.
