Job Role
We are looking for a Deputy Manager to join us!
Role Purpose: To maximise sales and profitability by providing excellent customer service through effective team leadership. Cover Store Manager in their absence. To successfully implement the retail operations strategic plan whilst being fully responsible and accountable for successfully operating a Food Store. Ensuring great customer service is consistently provided as well as managing the financial performance of the store and working to achieve all budget requirements, and all people management requirements. To lead, inspire and develop your team, spending time on the shop floor, making sure that each and every colleague and customer is valued. To maximise sales and profitability by providing excellent customer service through effective team leadership.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
• Effectively lead, engage and develop colleagues throughout the store up to Assistant Managers
• Effectively develop and execute excellent customer service
• To oversee and assist in the control of all operating costs
• Working with the Store Manager to effectively grow profits
• Responsible for Recruitment and ongoing development of colleagues
• Accountability for store performance across all trading hours
• Accountability for all Store Controllable costs
• Accountability for store profitability
• Accountability for recruitment and ongoing development of team
• Responsible for legal compliance and maintaining due diligence – Fuel Safety, Food Safety and Health & Safety
• Demonstrate The Society Aims, Values and the Management Charter
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• 4 years+ Retail experience
• Minimum Level 5 CMI qualification
• Ability to lead, engage and develop a team
• Ability to help identify and maximise sales opportunities
• Develop and execute excellent customer service
• Ability to assist in profit growth
• Ability to communicate/ liaise effectively with Manager
• Knowledge of retail statutory legislation
• Ability to oversee costs, e.g. leakage, waste, people budget
