Our colleagues enjoy a fair share after a challenging year
ELIGIBLE colleagues at The Channel Islands Co-operative Society have been paid a bonus equivalent to one week’s pay in recognition of their hard work following a challenging year.
As part of a pay restructure to ensure fairness and equity across the organisation, the Society’s board and executive team have rewarded colleagues with the discretionary performance related pay award to celebrate employees’ exceptional efforts and to ensure that everyone is rewarded with a share of last year’s profits.
The bonus is in addition to a Covid-19 bonus which was paid to front line colleagues earlier this year.
Mark Cox, chief executive officer of The Channel Islands Co-operative Society, said: ‘We work for a unique organisation that values recognition and believes in sharing success with colleagues. I am so proud of all of our colleagues and how everyone has come together over the past year. It is gratifying to be able to ensure that all colleagues can share fairly in the Society’s success.
‘In 2020 we completed a top down review and restructure on pay and benefits and over £1.5 million was invested in our front line colleagues in order to ensure fairness and equality. We are committed to promoting a sustainable community where all of our colleagues are valued and rewarded for their contribution to the organisation; this sits at the heart of our values as a Co-operative.’
Additional industry leading rewards and benefits have also been offered to colleagues including enhanced holiday allowances, pay increases above RPI and permanent colleagues on weekly contracts of more than 12 hours can access free health care cover.
